Three more volunteer forces to receive special financial assistance for Raya, says PM

SHAH ALAM: Three volunteer forces will receive special financial assistance for Hari Raya Aidilfitri, says Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim (pic).

The Prime Minister said the assistance would be expanded to the Territorial Army Regiment, the Armed Forces Reserve Force and the Maritime Volunteer Force.

He said they decided on the expansion after receiving applications from the three groups.

"I was informed that there were applications from the three forces which were not included when the announcement was made previously," he said after attending a walkabout at the PKNS Complex Ramadan Bazaar on Wednesday (April 19).

On March 28, Anwar announced Aidilfitri Special Financial Assistance to more than 200,000 members of the Malaysian Volunteer Department, Civil Defence Force Volunteers, volunteer police and volunteer firemen.
