KUALA LUMPUR: Police have arrested a woman for allegedly stealing an ATM card and taking money out of a victim's bank account.
Dang Wangi OCPD Asst Comm Noor Dellhan Yahaya, in a statement Friday (April 14), said that the victim lodged a report on March 25, stating that she had noticed that her bank account showed a reduction of RM8,200.
"The money was taken out in multiple transactions starting March 23.
"Then on April 14 at around 12.25am, a 21-year-old woman was arrested in Pandan Perdana. The victim's ATM card and a handphone that was believed to have been bought using the stolen money were also seized," he said.
The victim previously went on social media urging the police to arrest the suspect following the theft of the ATM card.
People online also noticed that the suspect was recently caught on camera in a social media influencer's video while at a Ramadhan Bazaar.
ACP Dellhan added that the victim and suspect were relatives.
