Missing teen reunited with family in Jasin

MELAKA: A 16-year-old girl who was reported missing for more than 10 days has been reunited with her family.

Jasin OCPD Deputy Supt Ahmad Jamil Radzi said the girl was found safe at an apartment in Kampar, Perak at 3.30pm on Wednesday (April 5) with a 20-year-old male friend.

He said the girl confessed she had voluntarily left her house and stayed with her friend since March 18.

"The teenager told us she wasn’t forced or mistreated by her friend.

"However, police will continue to investigate other elements," he said on Thursday (April 6).

On March 27, The Star reported that a nasi lemak seller, 41, was looking for her missing teenage daughter by distributing posters to the locals.

She said her daughter, 16, left all her belongings including her mobile phone at home.

She then lodged a police report.
