RM1,000 Aidilfitri aid will be given to Kedah civil servants, says MB

ALOR SETAR: A total of 5,100 civil servants in Kedah will receive Special Aidilfitri Assistance of RM1,000 each that will be paid on April 18, says Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor.

The Kedah Mentri Besar said the decision to approve the aid was made at the state executive council meeting which he chaired on Wednesday (April 5).

"The approval involves all civil servants with a budget of RM5.1mil.

"This is the state’s goodwill gesture to all civil servants so that they can purchase goods in preparation for the Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration,” he told reporters at Wisma Darul Aman, here, Wednesday.

Muhammad Sanusi also said that the meeting today agreed to appoint a Council of Village Chiefs (MKK) to replace the Federal Village Development and Security Committee (JPKKP).

"Previously, we used the Village Development and Security Committee (JPKK) but after it was abolished, it was changed to JKKP. So, we want to maintain the JKKP but change its name to MKK.

"The change will involve an annual allocation of RM13.8mil to pay allowances to the MKK,” he said. - Bernama
