PETALING JAYA: Immigration director-general Datuk Ruslin Jusoh has has confirmed that its website was hacked.
Immigration director-general Datuk Ruslin Jusoh said that the website was hit by a cyberattack at 2am on Tuesday (April 4) by hacker "CaptainSmok3r".
"This cyberattack was in the form of a 'defacement', where the main page of the Immigration Department website replaced with another image.
"However, other links related to Immigration services such as myImms, SSPI and others were unaffected.
"Immigration has taken corrective action by shutting down the page to prevent access and the Website's security systems are being repaired and reconfigured.
"The information technology department has also held meetings with the National Cyber Security Agency (Nacsa) and CyberSecurity Malaysia," he said.
He also said that no information was leaked in the attack.
