FOUR local Tamil authors will be honoured during the Malaysian Tamil Writers Association’s 60th annual general meeting this weekend, reported Malaysia Nanban.
MIC deputy president Datuk Seri M. Saravanan is expected to attend the event, which takes place tomorrow at the Tan Sri KR Soma auditorium in Kuala Lumpur, said association chairman Gnana Simon.
Veteran poet PC Suriyamoorthi will receive the Mutthamizh Vitthagar Murugu Subramanian award while poet K. Tamilselvam will receive the Senthamizh Selvar CV Kuppusamy prize. Another local poet, NK Mullaiselvan, and teacher S. Mageswari will also be honoured with the Kalaimani SA Anbananthan award and the Dr R. Karthigesu award. All will receive gold medals for contributions to Tamil culture.
