LOCAL silambam and kabadi associations are devastated by the exclusion of the two traditional Indian sports from the 2024 Sukma Games, Malaysia Nanban reported.
Malaysia Kabadi Sangam secretary, identified as Peter, said the two sports were included as exhibition events in the 2022 Sukma Games in Kuala Lumpur.
The groups that represent the two sports were told they would be part of the competitions at the next Sukma Games in Kuching.
Peter said the exclusion of the sports, which are important to the Indian community, is hurtful and damaging to the image of the Games.
Kabadi Sangam has asked Youth and Sports Minister Hannah Yeoh to help in the matter.
