Woman dies, seven injured in three-car pile-up near Bidor


IPOH: One woman died and seven others sustained injuries in an accident involving three vehicles near Bidor.

Perak Fire and Rescue Department’s operations chief Mohd Nasir Ibrahim said the incident occurred on Jalan Bikam-Sungkai on Saturday (March 25).

He said a distress call was made to the department at 8.56am Saturday.

“The 42-year-old victim, identified as Norliza Nawawi, died on the spot, and the seven others were sent to the nearby hospital for treatment.

“The woman, who died, was a passenger in an MPV, one of two involved in the accident.

“In the other MPV, there were four people, including two children, while inside another car, there were two women,” he added.
