Johor Ruler marks his birthday with modest celebration after breaking fast


Johor Ruler Sultan Ibrahim Ibni Almarhum Sultan Iskandar cutting his birthday cake.

JOHOR BARU: Johor Ruler Sultan Ibrahim Ibni Almarhum Sultan Iskandar has marked his birthday with a modest celebration here.

His Majesty's birthday falls on the first day of Ramadan on March 23 this year.

According to a post on the Sultan's Facebook, His Majesty cut his birthday cake after breaking fast. He later had a meal with Palace staff.

"Earlier in the morning, Johor Sultan was presented a cake with a crown replica, weighing 30kg.

"The cake was presented to His Majesty by Country Garden Pacificview Sdn Bhd, which is the developer of Forest City," read the statement.

It added that the Sultan later granted the said cake to the Dato' Haji Mohd Lip Bin Bedu mosque at Kem Sultan Ibrahim, Johor Baru.

"On the same day, the Sultan was also presented with a cake from Johor DAP leaders.

"The cake was presented by state DAP publicity secretary Liow Cai Tung, who is also Johor Jaya assemblyman," it said.
