Umno polls: Nizar Najib wins Pekan division vice-chief post

KUANTAN: Datuk Mohamad Nizar Mohamad Najib has won the contest for the Pekan Umno vice-chief with a landslide victory.

Nizar, the eldest son of jailed former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak, secured 769 of the 869 votes cast in the contest against Asmayudim Uyub.

He and was division youth chief previously.

Nizar made his election debut in GE15 and by winning the Peramu Jaya state seat.

he was subsequently appointed as the Pahang Investment, Industries, Science, Technology and Innovation committee chairman.
