Floods: Number of victims in Johor at 21,127, mostly in Batu Pahat


JOHOR BARU: A total of 21,127 flood victims are currently being placed at 83 temporary relief centres (PPS) in two flood-affected districts in Johor, namely Batu Pahat and Segamat.

The state Disaster Management Committee said that as of 8am on Saturday (March 18), the highest number of evacuees was at Batu Pahat, with 21,089 victims placed at 81 PPS.

“While the PPS with the highest number of victims is at Sekolah Kebangsaan Seri Telok, Parit Yaani, with 735 people, it is followed by SJKC Parit Yaani (678) and SJKC Yong Peng (602),” it said in a statement, here.

There are three roads that are still closed to all vehicles after being damaged by the flood.

The three roads are Jalan Lingkaran Kahang Barat (J95), Jalan GSA Chamek (J99), and Jalan Ulu Tebrau (J08).
