Jay Chou fined for singing 'overtime' at Sydney concert

'King of Mandopop' Jay Chou remains unfazed despite being fined by a Sydney concert venue for running over the time booked, reported Sin Chew Daily.

King of Mandopop Jay Chou remains unfazed despite being fined by a Sydney concert venue for running over the time booked, reported Sin Chew Daily.

This happened on Saturday when Chou, 44, was performing at his Carnival World Tour concert in Sydney and the audience clamoured for an encore at the end of the show.

“I am just worried that they will cut off the power midway,” he joked on stage.

It was later revealed that Chou received a fine for going over the time that he had booked for the stadium.

When the news came to light, his fans were effusive in their praise of him, saying that it reflected his dedication.

“He sang another 10 songs. I am speechless at the length he would go, just to spoil his fans,” one Internet user wrote.

It was uncertain how much Chou’s team was fined.

“Big brother does not mind paying the fine as long as my fans are happy,” Chou said on Instagram.
