PORT DICKSON: Two undocumented 19-year-old Myanmar nationals will be charged with the murder of a 44-year-old man found dead in a dragon fruit farm on Feb 18.
Three of their countrymen, who had also been living here illegally, would be produced as prosecution witnesses, said Port Dickson deputy police chief Deputy Supt Muhamad Mustafah Hussin.
“We have forwarded the investigation papers to the deputy public prosecutor’s office and the instruction was to charge the duo.”
They would be charged at the Magistrate’s Court today, he added.
The five Myanmar nationals had been in police custody since Feb 20 following their arrests in Kuala Lumpur and Shah Alam.
Their arrests came after the victim’s father lodged a report on Feb 18 after he found his son’s body in the farm.
A police team was immediately sent to the farm.
They found the man’s body with his hands and legs tied.
There were also injuries to his head and body.
The victim’s father last saw him alive on Feb 17 when he sent dinner to him at the farm.
Apparently, the deceased had previously told his father that he had hired a Myanmar national to help him at the farm two weeks ago but did not provide any other information.
The two teenagers will be charged under Section 302 of the Penal Code read together with Section 34 of the same legislation which carries the death penalty upon conviction.
DSP Muhamad Mustafah said that all five of them would also be charged under Section 6(1)(c) of the Immigration Act for not having valid travel documents.
