Floods: Over 1,000 displaced in Negri as of 8am March 3

SEREMBAN: The number of flood victims in Negri Sembilan has shown a slight increase with another temporary relief centre opened in Tampin.

As of 8am Friday (March 3), the number of victims housed at the 12 centres statewide has increased to 1,061 from 301 families.

The number at 8am on Thursday (March 2) was 807 from 209 families.

The state Civil Defence Force said the most victims were in Tampin, with 890 people.

Tampin also has the highest number of relief centres with eight opened so far: Sek Agama Rakyat Jelai 4, SK Gedok, SK Sg Kelamah, Pasir Besar community hall, SK Londah, SMK Gemas, Dewan Besar Gemas and Kg Tiong community hall.

Four other relief centres in Jempol currently house 171 victims.

These are SK Palong 1, SK Palong 7, SK Rompin and SJKT Ladang Sialang.

The Desa Dangi community hall and SK Pilah relief centres in Kuala Pilah are now empty as the 60 victims they housed earlier have been allowed to go home.
