Floods: Chaah and Bahau police stations and quarters hit, says IGP


KUALA LUMPUR: Two police stations and a block of police quarters were affected by the recent floods, says Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Acryl Sani Abdullah Sani (pic).

The three buildings are the Chaah police station and police quarters in Segamat, Johor as well as the Bahau police station in Negri Sembilan.

"Operations at Chaah have been stopped to enable repairs, while 126 people were relocated to a temporary relief centre (from) a police quarters in Segamat.

"Meanwhile, gates at the Bahau station collapsed due to soil erosion but the place is still operational," he told reporters after attending the police excellence awards ceremony in Bukit Aman here on Friday (March 3).

The IGP said a total of 369 police officers and personnel have been deployed to assist in flood relief operations including in Johor.

"They are part of the assets deployed by the National Disaster Centre," he said.
