PAS No 2 says sorry for claiming Royal Address 'dictated by govt'

KUALA LUMPUR: PAS deputy president Datuk Seri Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man (PN-Kubang Kerian) has apologised for claims that the Yang di-Pertuan Agong's Royal Address when opening the ongoing Parliament meeting had been dictated by the government.

Tuan Ibrahim said he had met the Dewan Rakyat Speaker to discuss the issue.

"I have given explanations regarding several mistakes... and I don't think this issue should be prolonged as we have many other important (matters).

"So, if there are any wrongdoings or mistakes, I would like to apologise and let us move on... for the benefit of the people," he said in the Dewan Rakyat on Tuesday (Feb 28).

On Feb 21, Tuan Ibrahim had claimed in the Dewan Rakyat that the Royal Address had been dictated by the Federal Government.

During Tuan Ibrahim's speech, RSN Rayer (PH-Jelutong) interjected to question his allegations and ask that he retract the claim.

Rayer said the allegations were improper and demanded an apology from Tuan Ibrahim to the King and the House.

Speaker Datuk Johari Abdul said he had met with Tuan Ibrahim after the issue was highlighted by Rayer.
