Cop found dead behind police station in Penang


GEORGE TOWN: A police sergeant was found dead with gunshot wounds behind a police station in Bayan Lepas.

Balik Pulau OCPD Supt Kamarul Rizal Jenal said the 51-year-old was found at about 3.30pm on Sunday (Feb 19).

"The deceased was found with gunshot wounds to his neck, chest and also head,” he said in a statement, adding that a pistol was found in the incident.

Supt Kamarul said the deceased was an officer at the Bayan Lepas police station.

He called on the public not to speculate on the matter as the case is still being investigated.
