Family of four injured as car rams into wild boar in Muar


MUAR: A family of four was injured after the car they were in hit a wild boar on Jalan Muar-Parit Sulong near here on Monday (Jan 30).

The Johor Fire and Rescue Department operations centre said they received an emergency call on the incident at 1.40am.

"The car skidded onto the road shoulder as the driver tried to avoid hitting the wild boar," Muar Fire station chief Sharizal Mokhtar said in a statement.

He said the driver, Mohd Halid Shahid, 59, fractured his thigh.

Sharizal said three other passengers – a woman and two children – suffered minor injuries.

"All victims were sent to Sultanah Fatimah Specialist Hospital here for treatment," he said.

Sharizal said 11 firemen from the Muar fire station were involved, led by senior officer II Zuraimi Harun.

The operation ended at 2.22pm.
