Crackdown on wildlife crime

KUALA LUMPUR: More than RM64mil worth of smuggled wildlife and contraband has been seized in a nationwide crackdown.

Police secretary Deputy Comm Datuk Noorsiah Mohd Saaduddin said the Wildlife Crime Bureau (WCB) and the Special Intelligence Investigation Unit under Bukit Aman’s Internal Security and Public Order Department detained 88 suspects during the operation, with 35 raids conducted from Jan 1-20.
