Dr Wee pays tribute to the late former Sabah Wanita MCA chief Agnes Shim


PETALING JAYA: MCA president Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong (pic) has extended his condolences to the family of former Sabah Wanita MCA chief Datuk Agnes Shim Tshin Nyuk, who passed away at age 68 on Monday (Jan 23) morning.

"My heartfelt condolences go to Sabah Wanita MCA chief Datuk Dr Pamela Yong and her family for the passing of her mother, Datuk Agnes Shim," he said in a Facebook post on Monday.

"Agnes Shim was once the Sabah Wanita MCA chief and a state senator, who had contributed a lot to the community, especially towards the development of women," he added.

Her passing is a great loss to the community, especially to the people of Sabah.

"She will be dearly missed and may she rest in peace," said Dr Wee.

Shim passed away peacefully at her home here at 10.55pm on Sunday (Jan 22).

According to a Facebook post by her son Arthur Yong, details would be provided later for those who wish to pay their last respects.

Shim was said to have been battling illness for some years.
