We will leave it to ROS, says Ismail Sabri

KUALA LUMPUR: We will leave it to the Registrar of Societies (ROS), says Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob of a report lodged by its members over a possible violation of the Umno constitution in relation to the no-contest motion for the top two party positions.

"Every member in Umno has the right, they have the locus standii, to protect their interest in Umno.

"When there are problems related to registration or the legitimacy of a meeting and others, their last reference is ROS," the Umno vice president said when met at the MCA open house at Wisma MCA here on Sunday (Jan 22).

"All members have the right and no one can stop them from going to ROS. It is up to ROS to make a decision," the former prime minister said.

It was reported that Umno member from the Kuala Nerus division Muhammad Aizat Fikri and Seremban Umno member Muhammad Fiqri Firdaus Muhammad Rom had claimed that the party had violated its constitution at the general assembly.

However, Seremban division chief Mustafa Salim denied on Saturday (Jan 21) that the division had sent a notice of objection to the ROS over the issue.
