Uphold spirit of tolerance and harmony among all races, says Johor Ruler in CNY greetings

JOHOR BARU: Johor Ruler Sultan Ibrahim Ibni Almarhum Sultan Iskandar has extended Chinese New Year greetings to all those celebrating the festival.

The Sultan also called on all Johoreans to uphold the spirit of tolerance and harmony among all races, which are the cornerstone of Bangsa Johor.

“The spirit of ‘muhibah’ (goodwill) among people of all races, religions and cultures is imperative and should be held fast by the people always.

“A multiracial society like ours must always practise tolerance to move forward as a nation.

“I take this opportunity to wish all Chinese celebrating the Lunar New Year, happiness and prosperity always,” he said in a statement on his Facebook page.

Earlier, the Sultan granted an audience to Johor Health and Unity Committee chairman Ling Tian Soon.

During the meeting, Ling presented the Sultan with a souvenir in conjunction with Chinese New Year.
