Two arrested for attacking restaurant worker in Cheras

KAJANG: Two men were detained for allegedly slashing the hand of a restaurant worker in Taman Segar Perdana, Cheras.

Kajang OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Zaid Hassan said police received a report on Tuesday (Jan 17) of a 46-year-old man being attacked by two men who were armed with machetes.

"Investigations showed that the incident started when one of the suspects was reprimanded by the victim for causing a ruckus at the restaurant due to his drinks being delivered late.

"One of the suspects was then instructed to leave the restaurant but he came back with another man while armed with machetes and attacked the victim," he said in a statement on Thursday (Jan 19).

The victims suffered a broken finger and wounds to his knees, he said.

"We detained two men, aged 44 and 47, at about 3am on Wednesday (Jan 18) and seized two machetes.

"The suspects have been remanded until Jan 22 for further investigations," he added.

ACP Mohd Zaid urged those with information to contact investigating officer Insp Muhamad Ali Hamzah at 019-8660324 or any nearest police station.
