Cops nab Sungai Way road bullying suspect


PETALING JAYA: A 31-year-old man has been detained in connection with a road bullying incident at Jalan SS8/2 here on Friday (Dec 23).

Petaling Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Mohamad Fakhrudin Abdul Hamid said the victim lodged a report on the incident on Saturday (Dec 24).

"According to the victim, the incident occurred when the suspect refused to move his car after the traffic light turned green at a junction in Sungai Way," he said when contacted on Wednesday (Dec 28).

"The suspect then showed a crude hand gesture before shouting for the victim to get out of his vehicle.

"The victim was forced to stop his vehicle further up the road after being blocked by the suspect.

"The suspect, armed with a cane, got out of his car and confronted the victim."

ACP Mohamad Fakhrudin said the suspect was detained at Jalan Penchala at about 3.20pm on Monday (Dec 26).

"He has been remanded until Thursday (Dec 29)," he said.

It was earlier reported that police were tracking down a man in connection with a road bullying incident at Jalan SS8/2.

ACP Mohamad Fakhrudin had said police detected a video of the incident that went viral on Twitter.

"The video showed a man taking a cane out of his vehicle after he stopped in front of another vehicle," he said.
