Wee meets PM, raises community concerns

PETALING JAYA: Several issues concerning the Chinese community were raised during a meeting between Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and MCA president Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong.

In a Facebook post yesterday, Dr Wee said he exchanged views with the Prime Minister on inflation and the cost of living, political developments and how to attract foreign investors, especially China, which has the potential to make huge investments in the country that will help boost the economy.

“I took the opportunity to convey my congratulatory message to him on his appointment as the 10th Prime Minister.

“We discussed many issues related to the people and the country during our 35-minute meeting,” said the former transport minister, who was accompanied by Tanjung Piai MP Datuk Seri Dr Wee Jeck Seng.

Dr Wee also thanked Anwar for inviting him to the meeting.

“My best wishes to the government in bringing development, stability and recovery to the country in this post-pandemic era,” he said.
