Cops nab angry man who issued threats, kicked over motorcycles at eatery

KUALA LUMPUR: A man went into a fit of rage and issued threats of bodily harm after being told off in a restaurant, police said.

Ampang Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Mohamad Farouk Eshak said the incident occurred on Tuesday (Dec 13) at a restaurant along Jalan Pandan Jaya 2/3.

"The complainant had scolded the suspect, which led to an argument.

"The suspect kicked a chair and table in the restaurant and threatened to cut the complainant with a sickle," he said in a statement on Wednesday (Dec 14).

It is learnt that the suspect works as a restaurant server, but not where the incident occurred.

According to police, the complainant was also threatened after he tried to lift motorcycles outside that had been kicked over by the suspect in his rage.

"Based on information gathered, we arrested a 36-year-old man at the scene.

"He has been remanded until Saturday (Dec 17)," ACP Mohamad Farouk added.
