Bemban rep Mohd Yadzil is Opposition leader in Melaka state assembly


MELAKA: Bemban assemblyman and Melaka Perikatan Nasional chairman Dr Mohd Yadzil Yaakub is the new Opposition leader in the state legislative assembly.

He takes over from Bukit Katil assemblyman Adly Zahari, who was appointed Deputy Defence Minister.

"We will be a more effective Opposition so that we can provide checks and balances to the government to guarantee the well-being of the people," he told reporters here on Tuesday (Dec 13).

The Melaka assembly has 28 seats, with 21 held by Barisan Nasional, five by Pakatan Harapan, and two by Perikatan. – Bernama
