KUALA LUMPUR: The MCA general assembly will be held behind closed doors this year to focus on its post-15th General Election (GE15) performance evaluation, says Datuk Chong Sin Woon.
In a statement on Monday (Dec 12), the MCA secretary-general said following the recent conclusion of GE15, the 69th MCA Annual General Meeting (AGM), 58th MCA Youth AGM and 47th Wanita MCA AGM will be held behind closed doors on Dec 17 and 18.
"It will focus on discussions and a post-mortem regarding MCA's performance in GE15.
"Attendance is only open to representatives of MCA and both wings of the party," he said.
Chong said the three AGMs this time did not include invited guests from outside.
"This includes top Barisan Nasional leaders, representatives of Chinese organisations, non-governmental organisations (NGOs) or foreign ambassadors and media practitioners.
"MCA believes that this is a critical time for the party to conduct self-reflection and look at the future in detail.
"We (MCA) also apologise for any inconvenience that may arise," he said.
