PAGOH: The Pagoh Fire and Rescue Department have deployed their drone and K9 Unit to help with the search and rescue (SAR) operation to find a man who went missing after going for a hike at Bukit Durian Batu 10, here.
Operation Commander Assistant Fire Superintendent Mohd Fadli Ismail said the second day of the operation started at 7am on Saturday (Nov 26) with the SAR radius expanded to 5km.
“The victim is identified as Goh Sang Seng, 56, who went missing while hiking with about 20 friends at about 6pm on Thursday (Nov 24).
“The station received a call about the incident at 12.59am early Friday, and the SAR operation started at 7am the same day,” he said when contacted, here, on Saturday.
For the second day of the operation, an additional eight men were added, of whom six are from the department's drone and K9 units, including two dogs and two drones.
“The other two men are from the police K9 unit with one dog,” he said, adding that the operation is still ongoing.
Muar OCPD Asst Comm Raiz Mukhliz Azman Aziz has also confirmed the case.
