GE15: Polling for Baram suspended due to bad weather

PETALING JAYA: Voting for the Baram parliamentary seat in Sarawak has been suspended, says the Election Commission (EC).

EC chairman Tan Sri Abdul Ghani Salleh said this was because bad weather prevented polling personnel from going to their place of duty, either by land, air or water transport.

He said this involved 11 polling stations.

"A new date will be announced after it is safe for polling personnel and voters to travel to polling stations," he said in a statement on Saturday (Nov 19).
