GE15: Tebrau has a lot of potential for development, says BN candidate Nicole Wong

PASIR GUDANG: Tebrau has a lot of potential to be developed as a high-income industrial area that can lift the people's socio-economic status, says Barisan Nasional's candidate for the parliamentary seat Datuk Nicole Wong Siaw Ting.

The area could be suggested by the state or the Federal Government when they are planning to bring in investment, she said.

"Tebrau still has many areas that can be developed to help the locals in terms of creating high-income jobs," she said, adding that a data centre could be set up in Tebrau.

The MCA Youth chief said this when met after the ground-breaking ceremony for a last rites prayer centre for the Indian community at Tanjung Langsat here on Wednesday (Nov 16).

Wong added that Tebrau needs a passionate MP who can provide a long-term development plan.

"I have a plan but it is no use promising people the moon and stars. My focus right now is to get the mandate from the people first," she said.

Wong also said she had covered about 90% of the area and would also focus on a social media approach.

"We should avoid any personal attacks on our opponents because this will not help the people," she added.

Tebrau has the largest number of voters in Johor with 223,003 people.
