AMPANG: The kitchen and a bedroom of a bungalow in Taman Halaman here were damaged in a landslide early Tuesday (Nov 15) morning.

Selangor Fire and Rescue Department director Norazam Khamis told Sinar Harian that seven personnel from the Ampang Fire and Rescue station rushed to the scene after receiving a distress call at 2.26am Tuesday.

"The area involved in the landslide behind the bungalow is about 65sq m. No injuries or fatalities were reported in the incident," Norazam said in a statement Tuesday.

Norazam said firemen at the scene investigated all floors and rooms in the bungalow to ensure all occupants were evacuated.

He added that the residents, a husband and wife both aged 39, and their 11-year-old son, were safely evacuated.

"The Ampang Municipal Council Slope Unit will be carrying out further inspections into the landslide," he added.
