GE15: Takiyuddin not given mandate to negotiate coalition govt with BN, says Muhyiddin

KOTA BARU: Perikatan Nasional denies giving a mandate to PAS secretary-general Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan to negotiate a coalition government with Barisan Nasional after the 15th General Election (GE15).

Perikatan chairman Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said the purpose of Perikatan contesting in GE15 was to form a government without having to join Barisan or Pakatan Harapan.

He also expressed confidence in winning sufficient seats to form the Federal Goverment.

"As Perikatan chairman, I never gave a mandate to Takiyuddin to negotiate with Barisan Nasional for the purpose of forming a government after GE15.

"I pray that with the permission of Allah S.W.T and the strong support of the people, Perikatan Nasional will win a sufficient number of seats to form the federal government and the governments of the states involved in GE15," he said.

"There were discussions before this, but while we’re unable to work together now, we did say that maybe we could work together after GE15," he said after a ceramah at Kampung Kubang Kiat here on Monday night (Nov 14).
