GE15: EC dismisses Nurul Izzah's complaint, says polling agent's outfit only similar in colour to party flag

BUKIT MERTAJAM: Nurul Izzah Anwar, Pakatan Harapan's candidate for Permatang Pauh in the 15th General Election (GE15), says a polling agent at the Gemilang Hall in central Seberang Prai was wearing inappropriate attire during the early voting process.

"The agent was wearing a shirt printed with part of a political party symbol.

"Although it is not the full symbol, we should avoid images like that.

"I came here without any symbol of my party," she said Tuesday (Nov 15).

Nurul Izzah added that she would raise an objection with the Election Commission (EC).

"Polling agents should go in with a clean image," she said.

Meanwhile, an EC representative said the early voting at Gemilang Hall was a smooth process.

"We have checked on the complaint. We found that there was no party logo and no candidate name on the outfit.

"It is just that the colour of the clothes is similar to a political party's colours," he said.

There were 736 early voters as well as postal voters at the polling centre.
