Takiyuddin in six-way tussle for Kota Baru seat


KOTA BARU: Incumbent Kota Baru MP Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan (pic) will be defending his seat in a six-cornered fight.

The PAS secretary-general will be Perikatan Nasional’s candidate for the Kota Baru seat.

He will be facing Dr Hafidzah Mustakim (PH-Amanah), Datuk Seri Rosmadi Ismail (BN-Umno), Andy Tan @ Awang (PRM), Datuk Dr Che Musa Che Omar (Putra) and Independent candidate Izat Bukhary.

In the 14th General Election (GE14), Takiyuddin won with a majority of 5,869 votes for PAS.

Takiyuddin won with 28,291 votes in GE14 beating Pakatan Harapan’s Husam Musa (22,422) and Barisan Nasional’s Fikhran Hamshi who received 16,256 votes.

The Energy and Natural Resources Minister has held the seat since 2013.
