GE15: Abdul Rahman makes a return to Kota Belud in three-cornered fight

PETALING JAYA: Former Barisan Nasional federal Cabinet minister Datuk Seri Abdul Rahman Dahlan (pic) is making another go for his “old” parliamentary seat of Kota Belud in the 15th General Election (GE15).

The 56-year-old, who had served as housing and local government minister as well as minister in the prime minister’s department, was the MP for Kota Belud for two terms, in 2008 and 2013.

In GE14, he was “moved” to contest in Sepanggar but lost to Datuk Aziz Jamman of Warisan.

In this election, he will face Kota Belud incumbent MP Munirah Majilis of Warisan and Madeli@ Modily Bangali of Pakatan Harapan.

This will be the second time that Rahman and Munirah will clash with each other in the national polls.

The first time was in GE13 in 2013, which saw Rahman emerge as the winner.

In GE14, Munirah won the Kota Belud seat against Barisan’s Datuk Seri Mohd Salleh Said Keruak, Laiman Ikin of PAS and Miasin Mion of Pakatan Harapan Rakyat Sabah.
