GE15: No discussions held for Perikatan-GTA collaboration, says Muhyiddin

PETALING JAYA: There have been no discussions so far on any collaboration between Perikatan Nasional and Gerakan Tanah Air (GTA) for GE15, says Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.

The Perikatan chairman said that there had been no high-level discussions between the two coalitions about a possible team-up and that Perikatan would continue prioritising its own agenda first.

"I am not aware of any official negotiations taking place, especially at the highest level.

"If the discussions are at a lower level then it is of little importance to us.

"For now, Perikatan will continue moving forward alone," he told the press after chairing the Perikatan presidential council meeting at the Bersatu headquarters on Thursday (Oct 27).

GTA chairman Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad had earlier said that he would give Perikatan two days to decide on a possible political alliance and that discussions were underway.

Talk of a possible collaboration between the two coalitions first came about after Dr Mahathir said on Oct 30 that he was open to discussions with the Perikatan leadership.
