Melaka eatery owner held for reckless driving, drug use

ALOR GAJAH: A Facebook post about a reckless driver in Masjid Tanah town led to the detention of a 24-year-old eatery owner.

Alor Gajah OCPD Supt Arshad Abu said the man was also found to be driving without a valid licence and road tax as well as allegedly being under the influence of drugs.

“The car was also found to have been illegally modified while a urine test on the man came back positive (for drugs),” he said on Monday (Oct 3).

Supt Arshad said the man was remanded to assist investigations under Section 15(1) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.

The arrest was made on Monday following a Facebook post alleging that the driver had revved his car engine loudly and driven recklessly.
