Penang flags to fly at half-mast in respect of Queen Elizabeth II

GEORGE TOWN: All government departments and agencies in Penang will fly their flags at half-mast in respect of Queen Elizabeth's funeral on Monday (Sept 19).

Deputy state secretary Datuk Mohd Zakuan Zakaria said the Yang di-Pertua Negeri Tun Ahmad Fuzi Abdul Razak has agreed for the flags to be flown at half-mast to mark the Queen's 70 years on the throne and Britain's longest-reigning monarch.

"Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow and the state leadership welcome the decision and have directed all government departments and government agencies to have the flags flown at half-mast," he said in a statement Friday (Sept 16.)
