Senior citizen dies in lorry-motorcycle accident


HULU SELANGOR: A senior citizen was killed after the motorcycle he was riding was involved in an accident with a lorry at KM433 of the North-South Expressway on Wednesday (Sept 14).

Hulu Selangor OCPD Supt Suffian Abdullah said the 66-year-old man from Tanjung Malim was on his way to Subang when he swerved into the lorry on the left lane.

"The man was dragged some 200m and both vehicles caught fire.

"The lorry driver was unhurt," he said in a statement.

Supt Suffian said the victim's body was sent to Hospital Kuala Kubu Baru for post-mortem.

"We are investigating the matter under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.

"We urge those with information to come forward to assist the investigation," he said.
