Perikatan expecting multi-cornered fights in GE15, says Muhiyiddin

ALOR SETAR: With Perikatan Nasional yet to forge political alliances with other parties for the 15th General Election (GE15), the coalition is bracing for multi-cornered fights for seats, says its president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin (pic).

"The window for cooperation in GE15 is closing and we are ready for multi-cornered fights.

"We can't rule out the GE15 is going to be decided by the six million youth whose votes will be the deciding factor in many constituencies.

"Chances are high that they will reject kleptocracy, so Perikatan will be their best choice," Muhyiddin told the media at the 68th PAS Muktamar at Kompleks PAS Kedah here on Saturday (Sept 3).

He said that while Perikatan is still open to discussions with other parties, it is prepared for multi-cornered fights if this does not happen.

On PAS election director Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor's proposal to use the Islamist party's logo in the three states of Terengganu, Kelantan and Kedah, Muhyiddin said it would be discussed in the Perikatan meeting next week.

Both Pakatan Harapan and Barisan Nasional have ruled out the possibility of any cooperation with Perikatan.

On seat distribution, Muhyiddin said discussions were ongoing and nothing was finalised yet.
