Hamzah not entertaining questions on whether or not Najib is in prison database

STAR

PUTRAJAYA: Home Minister has refused to comment on claims that Datuk Seri Najib Razak's name is not found in the Prisons Department database.

"Have you ever seen the database? I do not want to entertain allegations," said Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin on Thursday (Sept 1).

He was commenting on allegations made by certain individuals on social media that Najib's name could not be found on the Prisons database.

The claim was that as of Aug 31, the former prime minister's name still could not be found in the database.

However, no proof was given to back up the allegation.

The former prime minister is currently serving his 12-year jail sentence after the Federal Court upheld his conviction and sentence in the SRC case.

He has been incarcerated in Kajang Prison since Aug 23.
