PUTRAJAYA: It was a special evening for Down Syndrome children and orphans as they were feted in a pre-National Day celebration to fuel their spirit of patriotism.

The celebration organised by the D’Tandoor Restaurant Chain Group here was aimed at honouring the children on the occasion of the country’s coming 65th National Day event.

The guest of honour was Deputy Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Minister Datuk Rosol Wahid, who was joined by over 100 guests.

Datuk Abdul Malik Abdullah, managing director of the restaurant group, said he wanted the children to feel happy and cared for.

“We have gone through many challenges to arrive at this historic moment.

“I want to express my gratitude to God and our loyal customers who have contributed to our success.

“While celebrating our Independence, we shall not forget the orphans and senior citizens who should also partake in the nation’s joy,” he added.
