King, Queen convey condolences over the passing of Mohd Khalil's wife


KUALA LUMPUR: Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah and the Raja Permaisuri Agong Tunku Hajah Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah conveyed their condolences to Tun Dr Mohd Khalil Yaakob over the passing of the former Yang di-Pertua Negeri of Melaka’s wife Toh Puan Zurina Kassim.

Through a posting on the Istana Negara Facebook page, Their Majesties expressed sadness over the passing of Zurina and hoped her family would be patient and persevere in the face of the sad and difficult situation.

"Their Majesties pray that her soul will be blessed by Allah SWT and be placed among the righteous,” it said.

Zurina died at her residence in Bukit Damansara here at about 10.10am on Thursday (Aug 18). She was 78.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob also extended his condolences to former Yang Dipertua Negeri Melaka, Tun Dr Mohd Khalil Yaakob and his family on the passing of his wife Toh Puan Zurina Kassim.

"May her family remain patient and resilient in coping with the loss.

"May the soul of the departed be blessed by Allah SWT and be placed among the righteous. Al-Fatihah,” he wrote on his Facebook page today. - Bernama
