Remember sacrifices of country's freedom fighters, says Perlis Raja Muda

KANGAR: The Raja Muda of Perlis Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail has called on the public, especially youths, to always remember the services and sacrifices of the country's freedom fighters.

"Their courage and tenacity were clearly demonstrated through their sacrifices for the well-being of today's and future generations," he said in a statement issued by Perlis Islamic Religious and Malay Customs Council (MAIPs) on Monday (Aug 1).

According to the statement, Tuanku Syed Faizuddin said this after leading a charity cycling event held simultaneously with MAIPs' Peduli Cycling Programme in conjunction with the 2022 Warriors’ Day celebration on Sunday (July 31).

The Raja Muda, who is also MAIPs president, later took time to meet tithe recipients at Kampung Behor Gandil and Kampung Guar Syed Alwi.

Meanwhile, MAIPs chief executive officer Mohd Nazim Mohd Noor said Warriors’ Day is celebrated yearly on July 31, to remember the services of all security forces, whether military or police, before and after our country’s independence. - Bernama
