Raja Muda leads award recipients in conjunction with Perlis ruler's 83rd birthday


ARAU: The Raja Muda of Perlis, Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail, led the list of 24 recipients of awards, honours and medals at the first session of the investiture ceremony, held in conjunction with the 83rd birthday celebration of the Raja of Perlis, Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin Jamalullail, at Istana Arau on Sunday (May 17).

The Perlis state government said in a statement on Sunday that Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin has consented to confer the Darjah Kebesaran Seri Setia Syed Sirajuddin Jamalullail (SSSJ), carrying the title Datuk Seri Diraja, on Tuanku Syed Faizuddin.

The Ruler also consented to confer the honours on Raja Puan Muda of Perlis, Tuanku Dr Hajah Lailatul Shahreen Akashah Khalil and Tengku Puteri Mahkota of Perlis, Datuk Seri Datin Paduka Hajah Sharifah Fazira Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin Jamalullail.

The investiture was held at the Blue Room of Istana Arau.

Meanwhile, the statement said that Chief Secretary to the Government, Tan Sri Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar, was among 21 recipients of state honours at the ceremony held at the Balairung Seri of Istana Arau.

Shamsul Azri was awarded the Darjah Seri Paduka Mahkota Perlis (SPMP), which carries the title Dato' Seri.

Others conferred the honour include Armed Forces Chief General Datuk Malek Razak Sulaiman, Inspector-General of Police Datuk Seri Mohd Khalid Ismail, Director-General of Public Service Tan Sri Wan Ahmad Dahlan Abdul Aziz, former Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain, and MIGHT co-chairman Tan Sri Dr Ahmad Tajuddin Ali.

The statement said the Darjah Datuk Setia Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin Jamalullail (DSSJ), which carries the title Datuk Paduka, was conferred on royal family member Tengku Ariez Hazaril Tengku Datuk Paduka Abdul Halim and PPK Teknologi Sdn Bhd chief executive officer Dr Aminuddin Datuk Paduka Ahmad Kayani.

It added that the Inland Revenue Board (LHDN) deputy director-general (tax operations), Shaharrudy Othman, received the Darjah Datuk Paduka Mahkota Perlis (DPMP), which carries the title Datuk.

In addition, the Darjah Datuk Setia Paduka Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin Jamalullail (DSPJ), which carries the title Datuk was awarded to the Malaysian Army 5th Division Commander Major General Shamshor Jaafar, Director of Operations and Training (OPLAT), Army Headquarters Major General Hashim Osman, Health Ministry doctor Jasmeet Singh Saren, Firefly Airlines captain Wan Muzairul Wan Mahazir, and Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA) president Saniza Said.

Meanwhile, the Darjah Datuk Panglima Sirajuddin Jamalullail (DPSJ), which carries the title Datuk, was conferred on KPJ Perlis Specialist Hospital Medical Director Dr Hari Ram Ramayya, legal adviser at Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) Dr Khairul Anuar Che Azmi, Konsortium Bumita Nepta Sdn Bhd Managing Director Lee Mo Toi, and Tan Swee Leong.

The statement said the first session of the investiture concluded with the conferment of the Darjah Setia Mahkota Perlis (SMP) on Director of Training Management, Army Training and Doctrine Command (PLDTD) Brigadier General Azhar Ahmad, Deputy Director at the Matriculation Division, Ministry of Education, Nor Asnidar Aziz, and honorary secretary of the Perlis Amateur Athletics Association, Iyaru a/l Muthusamy.

Raja Perempuan of Perlis, Tuanku Tengku Fauziah Almarhum Tengku Abdul Rashid, was also in attendance at the investiture. – Bernama
