KOTA KINABALU: A search has been mounted for two sisters, nine and 12 years old, who have been missing from their home in Beluran since Tuesday (July 26).
Beluran district police chief Supt Kasim Muda said Hawa Syaqira Jeif and her younger sister Nurul Syuhada Asyiqin were last seen at their house in Ladang Monsok on Tuesday morning.
“A report was filed on Wednesday (July 27) at 10.24am where their 46-year-old father Jeif Wong, who works at the plantation, said he last saw his daughters at 8am on Tuesday before he left for work.
“It was normal for him to leave the children at home when he goes to work.
“The father and relatives initiated Facebook posts about his missing daughters to get any information on the girls’ whereabouts.
“The search operation activated has covered Ladang Monsok as well as nearby areas, including Hotel London in Sandakan, where witnesses claimed to have seen them.
“So far, both girls have yet to be found,” Supt Kasim said on Friday (July 29).
Police have urged anyone with information to contact Beluran police station at 089-511 222 or investigating officer Insp Muhammad Fakhrullah Wahab at 013-512 6121, or contact the nearest police station.
