Preacher being probed for rape in Selangor also linked to case in Perak


IPOH: The preacher who was arrested in Kuala Selangor for allegedly raping a 14-year-old girl is also being investigated by Perak police, says Comm Datuk Mior Faridalathrash.

The Perak police chief said an investigation paper has been opened as there was one report in the state.

"The state police criminal investigation department is investigating the matter now.

"There is a possibility that we will bring him here for the investigations," he told a press conference after attending the state police monthly gathering at the police air unit training base here on Wednesday (July 20).

"He is currently being remanded for five days by the Selangor police," he added.

The preacher was reportedly arrested on Monday (July 18) at the Kuala Selangor police headquarters and is being remanded until July 23.

Four investigation papers involving the man have been opened, including the one in Perak.
