Wee: Keep the Straits safe, open and clean

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia has an important role to ensure the security of shipping and protection of marine environment in the Straits of Malacca, which is regarded as one of the world’s busiest sea lanes, says Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong.

“With nearly 100,000 ships passing through the straits every year, it is vital that Malaysia and neighbouring countries band together to keep their shared sea passage safe and clean,” the Transport Minister added.
