Student, 14, killed in car-motorcycle collision


MELAKA: A Form Two student on his way to school died in an accident along Jalan Tanai, Air Paabas in Alor Gajah here.

Alor Gajah OCPD Supt Arshad Abu identified the victim as Muhammad Khiesyam Mohamad Jamel, 14, from Ayer Molek here.

He said the victim was on his way to SMK Dato' Haji Talib Karim here on a motorcycle when the accident occurred at 6.20am on Monday (July 4).

Supt Arshad said the 60-year-old driver of a multi-purpose vehicle was making a turn along the stretch when the collision occurred, killing the victim on the spot.

In another incident, a female motorcyclist was killed in an accident near a traffic light junction at Taman Mutiara in Alor Gajah at 9.40am.

Supt Arshad said the victim, S. Chandra, 60, died on the spot.

He said the victim was believed to have grazed the side of a tipper lorry driven by a 59-year-old man before falling from her machine and getting pinned under the heavy vehicle.
